Who you are:

You are a data-driven, bilingual (English/Mandarin) Procurement Specialist who is well versed in strategic product sourcing, supply chain functions, and international trade with China, Japan and other countries.  You have previously supported a senior level or C-suite executive and/or department at a fast-paced company and your previous efforts have helped to streamline the sourcing process of your current company, improve operational efficiency, and increase your company's profitability.  You are a change ambassador who can break apart and analyze a system, recognize the weakest link, and then take action to remedy the situation.  You are a logistical and organizational wizard with a discerning eye for details, and you effortlessly manage multiple tasks while maintaining calm under pressure. You always follow through on tasks with a sense of urgency and immediacy.  This is a rewarding role for a Procurement Specialist who is passionate about building relationships with suppliers, negotiating costs, and developing agreements that ultimately will help the company grow.  You're able to implement process efficiencies to meet the needs, wants, and preferences of the CEO and customers while driving revenue for the company.

What you will do:

In this role, you will make everything easier. Your job is to ensure that there is a seamless flow of information between the Procurement team and CEO, as well as any needs in between; your work will help the company and the CEO achieve Snow Joe + Sun Joe's business goals. If asked to source a 100-piece product, you will know exactly what questions to ask, what factors to consider and exactly how to go about it, and you will then execute the plan.  You will learn the day-to-day quickly and be able to anticipate what's next to come.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to the CEO to recommend the most appropriate and efficient method for strategic sourcing initiatives, while working in tandem with sales & marketing, logistics and operation, global procurement teams. 
  • Sourcing functions will include, but not be limited to:
    • Evaluate current and potential suppliers and consolidate information into actionable items, reports and presentations.
    • Make recommendations to CEO on choosing one supplier over another.
    • Develop requests for quotations and proposals (RFQs/RFPs), analyze supplier responses and negotiate contracts/agreements.
    • Demonstrated work experience working with Chinese and other international suppliers.
    • Participate in cross functional team workflow to implement sourcing strategies.
    • Maintain knowledge of commodities, sources of supply, diversity opportunities and market conditions that may impact future procurement.
    • Negotiate strategic sourcing agreements and any changes in vendor contracts in accordance with rules and regulations. 
  • Strong internal communication with C-suite executive team.
  • Keep the focus on important activities and deadlines.
  • Travel management (domestic and international) and heavy calendaring; heavy international travel will be required.
  • Conduct analysis and provide reports to management to support day to day business.
  • Must have thorough understanding of business priorities to be able to act on behalf of the CEO when traveling and attending meetings.
  • Take detailed minutes and prepare summary reports post-meetings.
  • Manage scheduling and itinerary of all external visitors. Assist in planning events, dinners, logistics, hotel accommodations and transportation arrangements. Prepare and maintain presentations for both internal and external visitors.
  • Special event management - planning, delegating, coordination, budgeting, expenditure tracking, vendor selection, catering, notification and scheduling of staff.
  • Project management as assigned. Planning, coordinating and evaluating project activities and ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans.
  • Achieve financial objectives by consolidating monthly P&L reports; analyzing variances; notating any justifications.

Required Skills:

  • Strategic procurement/sourcing + supply chain
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office - Excel (Vlookups, pivot tables, graphs, advanced Excel functions), PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word
  • Knowledge of Project Management Software
  • Comfort exploring new concepts and technologies with minimal oversight to produce meaningful insights
  • Demonstrated practical use of supplier management and sourcing principals
  • Skilled in developing roadmaps, program maps, business cases, and realization strategies to support recommendations.
  • Strong analytical, negotiating, and problem-solving skills to support processes and procedures.

 Preferred Skills:

  • Trilingual (English/Mandarin/Japanese)

Education + Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain or Procurement preferred
  • 2-3+ years in similar role
