Snow Joe + Sun Joe has an immediate opening for a Staff Accountant at our Hoboken, NJ corporate headquarters. We are looking for someone with a dynamic personality who is extremely analytical, organized, PERSISTENT, and detail-oriented. Someone who can roll up his or her sleeves and be ready, willing, and able to assist in putting together packages for dispute and for other projects that require attention. As this position requires the ability to uncover mistakes and rectify any errors made, the person best suited for this role is someone who dots every "I" and crosses every "T", and someone who feels compelled to right the wrong when errors are discovered.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts
  • Prepare journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations
  • Analyze information and options by developing spreadsheet reports; verify information
  • Support accounting of various entities with month-end close process
  • Assist with budgets and forecasts
  • Analyze and reconcile reports, records and financial data
  • Maintain monthly operating reports
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills; attention to detail a must!
  • Must understand basic accounting and bookkeeping principles
  • Must possess EDI knowledge.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Knowledge of ERP systems, specifically Microsoft Dynamics GP, is a plus but not required.
  • At least 4 years experience required
